I agree that the editors do an amazing job at their own expense. All the pubs I write for have fantastic editors that I love working with. A few have worked so hard with certain articles of mine, with me to make me a better writer. I will say though, it’s rare in my experience to have seen an editor leave a private note to let me know it’s been received. Only a small handful of the Ed’s I know do that and now that you mention it, I wish it was the norm.
