I came here to say just this. I think it is fair that pub-eds can nominate their own work. They spend so much time helping us writers perfect our pieces, time that could be otherwise spent writing their own boost-worthy articles.

A great article takes work, time and focus. If the eds put that into their own work then of course they should receive the added benefit of being allowed to nominate themselves.
