It wasn't really a mistake because as I had to still give birth, the midwives were the ones who were tasked to care for me in the aftermath. I also had relationships with many of the midwives who had been there delivering my oldest daughter, so I think the idea behind it was to have me cared for by people who were familiar.

I understand it, but it was still the worst thing to be on that ward.
