This article was seriously heart-breaking. It never ceases to amaze me that horror stories keep shedding light on horrific situations that could have been an alternative to the ending.

I sometimes wonder are the bystanders refusing to get involved where they could have helped because it all seems too hard? or is it a case of the perpetrators of the neglect and abuse having such amazing skills of deception?

Either way, the children are the ones who suffer and it's awful.
