This was a fascinating read.
Years ago I was in Africa and visited an orphanage where it was explained to us when we got there that most of the children were not orphans in that they had no parents, they did have parents but due to living in famine and poverty their parents had no choice but to leave them and go overseas to find work and send money back.
Perhaps that’s why so many of the places you mention the children weren’t orphans?
Either way, it’s awful to think that people are so sick to profit from those in need
